Skills needed: Knit, purl and work in the round. Prior experience with stranded knitting helpful but not required. 

Skills learned:

• Stranded knitting with one or two hands
• Fair Isle chart Reading
• Fair Isle color dominance techniques

Materials: 

• Heavy fingering / sport weight wool yarn. Yardages provided below for 8 color and 3 color versions.
  
  • 8 color version: MC: 135 yards, 20–80 yards in 7 contrast colors
  • 3 color version: MC: 285 yards, 100 yards each in 2 contrast colors
• US#4 (3.5 mm) 24” Circular
• US#5 (3.75 mm) 24” Circular
• US#6 (4.0 mm) 24” Circular
