Availability: | In stock (3) |
Intrigued by intarsia, but nervous about trying it? The Mooncrush tank top is a modern approach to intarsia that is extremely beginner friendly. We’ll start with learning to knit a folded hem at the bottom of the front panel, work up over the shoulders, then down the back panel. Finally, we’ll learn how to painlessly seam up the sides.

- US 4 (3.5mm) 32” circular needles
- Stitch markers
- Spare circular needle (this is used for the folded hem, so the cord needs to be as long as the main needle cord, but size can be anything smaller than a US 4)
- Crochet hook, size 3.5 mm or smaller
- Tapestry needle
- A copy of Mooncrush by Jacqueline Cieslak
- Note: While the class focuses on the Mooncrush tank top, the essential techniques and charts are the same for the Mooncrush Pullover sweater. If you’d prefer to knit the pullover version, you’re more than welcome. Just adjust your materials accordingly.
- Please note that this class is held on non-consecutive weeks to allow students more time to work through the stockinette portions of the pattern.
Preparation:
Students should work a 4”-5” stockinette swatch in the yarn you intend to use for the project. Please wash and block the swatch before measuring, especially if you plan to use cotton or linen yarn. If the gauge does not match the pattern gauge, please adjust the needle size and re-swatch until the correct gauge is achieved.
