Need help walking an existing sweater across the finish line?  If you want to expand your knitting skills to include garment construction or need a helping hand to grow your existing sweater skills, Sweater Camp might just be for you! The flexible schedule of this Camp helps you curate your own curriculum and grow your garment-making skills at your own pace. Sign up for the whole series, or one or two, to focus on the parts of a sweater you want to work on. 

Pick your project based on your skill level: 

Beginner: Simple Sweater 

Skills needed: 

  • Ability to knit and purl and work in the round
  • Ability to read a pattern
  • Ability to increase and decrease 

Materials:  

  • Worsted / aran weight yarn:
    Regular length: 200 (250, 300, 400, 450, 550, 650, 700, 850, 900, 950, 1050, 1100, 1200, 1350, 1550, 1750, 2000, 2200, 2400) yards
    Cropped length: 175 (225, 250, 350, 400, 450, 550, 600, 750, 800, 900, 950, 1000, 1100, 1300, 1400, 1600, 1800, 2000, 2150) yards
  • OR DK weight yarn:
    Regular length: 275 (350, 400, 500, 600, 700, 850, 950, 1100, 1150, 1250, 1350, 1450, 1600, 1750, 2050, 2300, 2600, 2850, 3150) yards
    Cropped length: 250 (300, 350, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 1000, 1050, 1150, 1250, 1350, 1500, 1700, 1850, 2100, 2350, 2600, 2800) yards
  • Worsted Version: US 6 / 4mm & US 8/5mm (see pattern details for specific cord lengths) 
  • Copy of Simple Sweater pattern by tincanknits 

Homework: Swatch for gauge

 

Intermediate: Sporti Tank, Cumulus Tee or Single Malt 

Skills Needed:

  • Previously Knit a sweater

Advanced: Poet Tee, Saven II, Ranunculus, Instant Crush

  • Previously Knit a sweater
